Deborah Rhea
Seehorn was born May 12, 1972. She is most famous for her role as the attorney
Kim Wexler on AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-2018), for which she has been given
the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series,
Miniseries, or Television Film. She also appeared on the NBC miniseries Whitney
(2011-2013) as well as ABC's I'm with Her (2003-2004) and TNT's Franklin
& Bash (2011-2014). Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk native, was born
May 12, 1972. Her mother was the executive assistant for the United States
Navy, while her father was an agent with the Naval Investigative Service; her
family moved frequently during her childhood, residing in Washington, D.C. and
Arizona and also in Japan. As a child, she was inspired by her grandparent and
grandmother to study painting, drawing and architecture. She continued pursuing
the visual arts, but had a growing passion for acting and was introduced into
contemporary theatre in the college. In 1994 she graduated from George Mason
University with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art. Seehorn who was studying in
college and was looking to enter theatre after being inspired by her acting
teacher. She attempted to be noticed by working various ancillary roles in D.C.
theater. She eventually got important roles in local theatre productions, but
still needed to work odd jobs to make ends meet as she landed roles in various
industrial short instructional films. Then she started to get roles in more
television productions, often playing roles that she regarded as "very
funny, sarcastic and intelligent women" that were similar to her favorite
actress Bea Arthur. A majority of these parts were then removed after just one
or two seasons. In May 2014, Seehorn was cast in the Breaking Bad spin-off
prequel series Better Call Saul. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler, a lawyer and love
interest of the title Jimmy McGill/Saul Bestman (Bob Odenkirk).
